Friday Night Blitz Game of the Week, Ware County at Benedictine

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — WSAV’s Friday Night Blitz Game of the Week kicked off at 7:30 p.m. with Ware County at Benedictine.

The game started out well for Benedictine. They led, 14-3, in the second quarter.

However from there, the Cadets gave up 35 unanswered points to lose, 38-14. The Cadets came into the contest ranked No. 2 in Class AAAA.

Also, their starting quarterback, Stephen Cannon, did not finish the game with a shoulder injury. His status for the next game and the remainder of the season is unclear.

Next up for Benedictine is a date at Wayne County on Oct. 18. Benedictine is currently tied for third in the Region 1-AAAA standings with Warner Robins, who they defeated, 35-21, on Oct. 11. Ware County will take on the reigning Class AAAA state champion, Perry, on Oct. 18.
