GLYNN COUNTY, Ga. (WSAV) – The Glynn County Police Department (GCPD) is investigating a fatal shooting that has left one man dead.

At approximately 8:23 p.m. on Saturday night, patrol officers responded to a shooting near 9th St. and Pine St., where they discovered a victim with gunshot wounds in the roadway.

The GCPD says despite the immediate aid by first responders, the victim, identified as 35-year-old Bobby Harris of Brunswick, succumbed to his injuries after being transported to Southeast Georgia Health System.

Throughout the night, authorities say detectives and crime scene personnel collaborated closely with patrol officers to investigate the murder, resulting in the identification of the involved parties. Subsequently, authorities say search warrants were executed on hotel rooms, leading to the discovery of pertinent evidence for the ongoing investigation.

In connection with this case, the GCPD says Sheldon Wright of Savannah has been arrested and charged with Felony Murder, Malice Murder, and Intent to Distribute Cocaine. Further arrests of individuals associated with the crime are anticipated.

Anyone with information related to this case is encouraged to contact the GCPD Non-Emergency phone number at 912-554-3645 or anonymously via Silent Witness at 912-264-1333 .
