PORT ROYAL, S.C. (WSAV) — Port Royal Police Department (PRPD) said that officers responded to a report of shots fired on Ribaut Road Thursday.

PRPD said that officers arrived on scene and located spent shell casings in the parking lot of 1430 Ribaut Rd and that a vehicle had been struck while stopped at the stop light at Lady’s Island Dr.

PRPD said there have been no injuries reported.

A perimeter was established with the help of Beaufort Police and the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) K-9 unit. They said that the area is an active scene, and an increased law enforcement presence should be expected.

This appears to be an isolated incident and does not appear to be any threat to the community, PRPD said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Mayo at 843-986-2220 or may file an
