Glynn County PD 1 arrested in death of 4-year-old

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — The Glynn County Police Department (GCPD) is investigating the death of a 4-year-old.

On Oct. 16, at approximately 7:23 PM, GCPD patrol officers responded to a local hospital after receiving a report of a gunshot victim. Upon arrival, officers found a four-year-old child in critical condition with a gunshot wound, GCPD said.

The child was transferred to a hospital in Jacksonville, FL, where GCPD said that he succumbed to his injury. GCPD said that investigators and crime scene technicians arrived at the scene and took control of the investigation.

GCPD said that the investigation revealed that the incident occurred at a residence on Habersham Street, where the child was left unattended in a vehicle with an unsecured handgun.

Following their investigation, GCPD said that their investigators arrested 25-year-old Joshua Codogan of Brunswick, GA. Codogan is boyfriend to the mother of the child.

Codogan now faces charges of murder in the 2nd degree and tampering with evidence.
