    Man in custody after shooting up Carroll County deputy vehicles, running into the woods

    Investigators say they have one person in custody after a man shot at Carroll County deputies and then ran into the woods on Thursday afternoon.

    Deputies said they tried to pull over a man driving a truck near Old Jones Road and Acorn Creek Road in Whitesburg. SWAT and Georgia State Patrol were called to assist in the search.

    Once the suspect pulled over, he got out of the truck and allegedly began shooting at deputies.

    The suspect was identified as Brenton Dale Morrison.

    As deputies searched, they asked neighbors in the area to stay in their homes and to avoid the area.

    Ashley Hulsey with Carroll County Sheriff’s Office told Channel 2′s Bryan Mims that Morrison took some drugs and went to the hospital to be checked out.

    Hulsey shared photos of the shooting with Channel 2 Action News .

    Several bullets hit the deputy vehicles. Thankfully, no one was injured.

    At this time, the charges that Morrison will face are unknown.

    He is also wanted for theft and aggravated assault in Alabama.

    I don't know about people these days they have just gone crazy to shoot at law enforcement officers they will get caught up with sooner or later they are people just like us just doing there job and then they are crazy people out there doing crazy thing's
