3 Tennessee Eateries Named Among America's 'Top 100 BBQ Spots' In 2024

It's nearly summertime, which means barbecue season is nearly upon us, and nothing compliments long summer days surrounded by family and friends better than piling up a plate full of all your barbecue favorites.

Yelp recently compiled a list of the Top 100 Barbecue Spots in 2024, finding the absolute best BBQ joints around the country that are worth stopping by to sample smoky meats, flavorful sauces and delicious sides that are out of this world. Among the list are three restaurants found around Tennessee :

• No. 10: Delauder's BBQ (Gatlinburg)
• No. 56: Peg Leg Porker (Nashville)
• No. 100: Elwood's Shack (Memphis)

Here's what Yelp had to say about Delauder's BBQ:

"Owner Denny Delauder won't tell you what's in his rub — a secret mix of 24 spices that took nearly 4 years to perfect — but he will reveal that he goes through 30 pounds of the special seasonings every month. 'No one else in the world has my flavor profile,' says Denny, who opened Delauder's in a former service station with a 'classic old school feel' in 2015. He smothers all his barbecue with that salty-sweet rub before smoking, then serves it dry — while offering homemade condiments that will 'make you throw out every sauce [you've] got in your fridge.' Denny puts just as much care into his sides: the potato salad from his mom's recipe; what might be 'the best [collard greens you've] ever had,' simmered overnight until they're soft and sweet; and the Fried Mac 'n' Cheese, dusted with jalapeno powder and crisped on the flat top."
