INMAN, S.C. (WSPA) – Shane Beamer’s visit to the Spartanburg-area Gamecock Club meetings Tuesday night included much talk about his offense.

Having named LaNorris Sellers his starting quarterback coming out of spring, with the caveat that he’ll still need to hold the job through preseason drills, Beamer noted they’ll likely make the final determination on their starting signal-caller by a couple of weeks ahead of the season opener on August 31st against Old Dominion.

Beamer also points out the many question marks on the offensive side of the ball he hopes his team can answer in the early stages of a season, noting a better running game is vital for any success.

South Carolina’s been near the bottom of the SEC in rushing yards in each of Beamer’s first three seasons, finishing last in 2023 at 85.1 yards per game.
