2 injured in Highway 64 crash near Hendersonville

HENDERSON COUNTY, N.C. (WSPA) – The Edneyville Fire and Rescue Department responded to a two-vehicle crash Thursday afternoon.

The collision took place on Highway 64 at the Southernaire Motel, near Cold Springs Road.

According to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, a mail-carrier vehicle was traveling eastbound on US-64, near Cold Springs Road. A Chevrolet pick-up truck was traveling west when they ran off the road to the right and overcorrected traveling back onto the road, colliding head-on with the mail-carrier vehicle.

Both drivers were transported to Mission Hospital, in Asheville, with non-life threatening injuries. The victims have not been identified at this time.

The North Carolina State Highway Patrol said that US-64 has reopened.
