GREENVILLE, S.C. (WSPA) – With high school football just around the corner, the Christ Church Cavaliers are previewed ahead of the 2024 season which kicks off on August 23.

Christ Church Cavaliers:

2023 record: 13-2, won second straight state title

Head Coach: Quin Hatfield, 5th season

Key Returners:

Tucker Hendrix (QB), Jackson Repp (WR), Jude Hall (WR), Michael Martin (RB), Reid Hipp (TE), Elijah Garrett (DE), Ford Glenn (LB), Will Marguet (LB), Acie Hatfield (DB), Ant Atkins (DB)

Key Losses:

Dashun Reeder (RB)

Preview:

The Cavaliers return several key players from last season’s second straight 1A State Title as they make the jump to 3A. Tucker Hendrix is back as the second year starter at quarterback and comes with returning weapons in slot back Jackson Repp, wide receiver Jude Hall and tight end Reid Hipp along with two starting offensive linemen. They’ll count on freshman Michael Martin to fill the enormous shoes of Dashun Reeder, who is now in the Big 10 at Northwestern.

Defensively, the Cavs are most experienced in the secondary with three starters returning while defensive end Elijah Garrett and linebackers Ford Glenn and Will Marguet are also vital.
