ANDERSON COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) — A 65-year-old man was killed in a hit-and-run crash that occurred Tuesday evening.

According to the Anderson County Coroner’s Office, the hit-and-run occurred around 5:30 p.m.

William Albert Green was traveling east in a small pick-up truck on River Road to his Piedmont home, when Green attempted to make a left turn onto Tall Oaks Circle, when his truck was rear-ended by a 2005 Chevy pick-up truck

Upon impact, Green’s truck overturned. The 65-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.

The car that hit the pick-up truck fled the scene, and was later found abandoned in a wooded area off of River Road.

South Carolina Highway Patrol confirmed that the Chevy driver is from Greenville, but did not share any additional information regarding the driver’s identity.

Officials with the Anderson County Coroner’s Office and South Carolina Highway Patrol are investigating the crash.
