Husband, wife found shot to death at Pickens Co. home

PICKENS COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) – A man and his wife died early Wednesday morning in a shooting at a Pickens County home.

The Pickens County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded to the 100 block of Britt Lane around 12:30 a.m. after receiving calls from the victims’ family members.

Investigators said both individuals were found with at least one gunshot wound.

The Pickens County Coroners Office said Amber Riddle, 38, and John Ryan Riddle Sr., 43, were pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities said the investigation remains ongoing while detectives continue to conduct witness interviews and complete all forensic testing.

However, law enforcement said the motive appears to have been an argument that escalated to a possible murder-suicide.
