Construction to close Upstate road for 30 days

SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) – A Spartanburg County road will be closed to through traffic for around a month beginning in late August for construction.

Officials said Apple Valley Road will be closed to through traffic from Reidville Road to Highway 101.

The closure will begin August 29 as crews work to build a roundabout at the corner of Apple Valley Road and Berry Shoals Road.

Detour signs will be posted to assist motorists. Only local traffic will be allowed on Apple Valley Road.

Work is expected to be completed in about 30 days.

Drivers are asked to plan ahead and proceed with caution when driving in that area.
