Crews investigate crash on Piedmont Hwy

PIEDMONT, S.C. (WSPA) – An investigation is underway after firefighters responded to a motor vehicle crash early Friday morning.

The Piedmont Fire Department said the agency responded to a nearby building on Piedmont Highway before 6 a.m. Photos on the fire department’s Facebook page show the scene where the incident took place.

According to first responders, a vehicle ran off the roadway and hit an 18-wheeler parked outside the facility.

One person was reported injured according to officials. The individual was treated by EMS at the scene.

Details of what may have led to the building damage have not been confirmed at this time.

The crash is under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
