CLINTON, S.C. (WSPA) – With high school football just around the corner, the Clinton Red Devils are previewed ahead of the 2024 season which kicks off on August 23.

2023 record: 10-3, 4-0

Head Coach: Corey Fountain, 6th season

Shawn Richardson (QB), Kason Copeland (RB), Javen Cook (RB), Angelo Cromer (RB), Tre Aiken, Clayton Lawson, Hunter Lawson (OL/DL), Chris Boyd (WR/DB), Austin Boyd (WR/DB), Brett Young (LB)

Key Losses:

Kadon Crawford (OLB), Zay Johnson (DB), Nyze Byrd (DL), Keleja Byrd (DL), Tray Cook (RB/DB)

Preview:

The Red Devils lost standouts on defense, like Zay Johnson at cornerback and linebacker Kadon Crawford, but they return an abundance of talent on offense beginning with quarterback Shawn Richardson and a typical stable of running backs, as well as the entire O-line led by Rion Gordon.

On defense, they’re building the line while linebacker Brett Young is among the top returners and Chris and Austin Boyd return in the secondary.
