HSRZ Preview: Mountain View Prep Stars

SPARTANBURG, S.C. (WSPA) – With the high school football kickoff just around the corner, the Mountain View Prep Stars are previewed ahead of its inagural 2024 season.

Preview:

Mountain View Prep enters its inaugural season with experience and talent on all fronts, including on offense where quarterback Bryson Drummond transfers in from Greenville and one of the area’s top running back’s in Jaylen McGill bolster the core group. They are joined by a pair of former Dorman Cavaliers in running back TJ Gassoway and receiver KD Hainsworth who are expected to benefit from a junior-led offensive line.

On defense, safety AJ McAlister’s athleticism could be used in more ways than one while defensive backs Jacobi Smith and speedy Shamon Black sure up the secondary and Eli Smith and Quay McCauley are the leaders up front.

While much of the team has Friday night experience, meshing different systems and coaching styles will prove the biggest challenge after missing out on spring ball and offseason opportunities.
