Child dies after being found in Greenville Co. pool

GREENVILLE COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) – A four-year-old child died over the weekend after being found in a pool at his Greenville County home.

According to the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to a home on Pine Street around 7:40 p.m. for a child who was missing.

Investigators said the child was found unresponsive in a pool after a search.

The child, identified as Joseph Pedro Ignacio, was taken to Greenville Memorial Hospital where he died Saturday night, according to the Greenville County Coroner’s Office.

The coroner said Ignacio’s cause and manner of death are still pending investigation.

The case is being investigating by the coroner’s office and the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies said no foul play is suspected at this time.
