SPARTANBURG, S.C. (WSPA) – A car was hit by a freight train on Thursday afternoon.

According to Chief Jeff Hadden with the Una Community Fire Department, the vehicle got caught on the train tracks, at the intersection of West Cleveland Street and Hayne Street.

The car was unable to continue driving, as the long gate arms trapped the vehicle onto the tracks. The owner of the vehicle managed to escape and had no reported injuries.

The incident happened at 5:53 p.m., Thursday evening.

Nobody on the train was reported injured.
