    Limestone football looks to continue its ascension in the SAC

    GAFFNEY, S.C. (WSPA) – The Limestone Saints enter 2024 coming off one of the best season’s in program history.

    Limestone earned the program’s highest preseason ranking, coming in third in the coaches’ poll, after its second consecutive winning season. If the last two years are any indication, the Saints should continue to trend upward and improve on an 8-4 season that landed them a share of the Piedmont Division Title and an invite to the National Division II Playoffs.

    The Saints lost a handful of talent from last season’s record-setting team, including SAC leading receiver in touchdowns and yards per game in Jelani Baker and the team’s leading rusher in Tre Stewart. Still, first year head coach and former wide receiver coach Jericho Cotchery believes guys who have been waiting their turn along with some incoming, young talent can fill the gaps.
