Body found in Greenville Co. woods identified

GREENVILLE COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) – A body found in a wooded area in Greenville County has been identified.

The Greenville County Sheriff’s Office said the body was found Tuesday, August 20, at the wood line around the end of Fairmont Avenue near South Pleasantburg Drive and Interstate 85.

The Greenville County Coroner’s Office has identified the person as 56-year-old Richard Larry Dixon. Dixon is believed to have been dead for multiple weeks according to investigators.

The cause and manner of death have yet to be determined according to the coroner.

Dixon’s death remains under investigation by the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office and Greenville County Coroner’s Office.
