SPARTANBURG, S.C. (WSPA) – Two people have been charged in connection with a shootout at a Spartanburg convenience store following a minor crash.

The shooting happened around 1 a.m. Sunday at the Spinx at the corner of W.O. Ezell Boulevard and Blackstock Road.

Spartanburg Police said the shooting stemmed from an argument over a minor crash in the parking lot.

According to investigators, a gray car was backing out of a parking space when it scratched a red SUV.

Officers said the driver of the gray car approached the driver of the red SUV and an argument began.

As a result of the argument, police said a shootout happened between the two passengers.

Police arrested two men, 22-year-old Isaiah Stephan Wilks and 20-year-old Devin Lee Linder, who they said fired a total of more than 25 rounds during the shootout.

Linder was injured by a gunshot wound to the wrist during the shooting.

A stray bullet from the shootout went through a window of a nearby Wendy’s, according to the police report.

Wilks was charged with discharging a weapon into a vehicle while occupied, breach of peace aggravated nature, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Linder was charged with pointing and presenting a firearm at a person.
