Man arrested following standoff in Greenville Co.

GREENVILLE COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) – A man was arrested Sunday afternoon following a standoff in Greenville County.

The Greenville County Sheriff’s Office responded around 3:30 p.m. to the 500 block of 4th Street to serve at least one warrant at a residence. Upon arrival, the suspect barricaded himself in the home.

Deputies said the suspect surrendered to law enforcement after a few negotiations. The individual was apprehended without incident.

Deputies have yet to reveal the suspect’s identity and charges for the related crime.

Authorities shared with 7NEWS that the suspect was transported to the hospital for self-inflicted injuries that occurred prior to the arrest.

His condition remains unknown at this time.
