    Motorcyclist dies days after crash in Oconee Co.

    OCONEE COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) – A motorcyclist died Monday days after a single-vehicle crash in Oconee County.

    The South Carolina Highway Patrol said the crash happened Wednesday, August 21, around 10 p.m. on Lawrence Bridge Road near Plantation Road.

    Troopers said the motorcyclist was traveling north when the vehicle collided with an animal that ran into the roadway. The driver fell off the vehicle due to the collision.

    The motorcyclist was taken to the Greenville Memorial Hospital where succumbed to their injuries days later on Monday, August 26.

    The Oconee County Coroner’s Office has identified the motorcyclist as 27-year-old Jarrett Phillips, of Easley.

    His death has been ruled accidental according to the coroner.

    The crash remains under investigation by the SCHP.
