VIDEOS: Meteor seen passing over the Tri-Cities

TRI-CITIES, Tenn./Va. (WJHL) — Multiple viewers across the Tri-Cities have sent videos of a meteor passing over the area early Friday morning.

The videos below show a meteor passing through the sky around 1 a.m.

Meteorologist Jeremy Eisenzopf says meteors are random and there’s really no way to track when one will pass over.

Meteors enter the Earth’s atmosphere and then burn up, explaining the bright light in the videos.
