Upstate man scores $75k with lottery ticket purchase

DUNCAN, S.C. (WSPA) — One man’s spur-of-the-moment decision to buy a $3 scratch-off lottery ticket made him $75,000 richer.

It happened at the Circle K on East Main Street in Duncan.

“It was spontaneous,” the man said. “I had a few extra dollars, so I bought a ticket.”

After the surprise of the win, the man got to planning a trip down to Columbia to cash his golden ticket.

As for the man’s plans with his chunk of change?

“I’m going to be smart with it,” he said.

Lottery officials said that there is still one more $75,000 prize out there in the Cash Wheel game, with the odds of winning being one in 900,000.
