Spartanburg Co. road closed due to sinkhole

SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) — County officials closed a road near Cherokee Springs after a sinkhole opened up near a large water line.

According to Spartanburg County, Cudd Drive is closed.

“We are actively working with Spartanburg Water, and it may be the end of next week before we can safely reopen the road to traffic,” Scottie Kay Blackwell with Spartanburg County said.

Officials said drivers should detour by taking Old Furnace Road to RC Thompson Road, turn right on RC Thompson Road, and make another right turn back onto Cudd Drive.
