High School Standouts: Marquise Henderson, BHP Football

HONEA PATH, S.C. (WSPA) – This week’s high school standout has been one of the top running backs in the Upstate while shattering records for the Belton-Honea Path football program.

Senior Marquise Henderson had a standout 2022 season after passing the 1,500 yard mark and putting up 20 total touchdowns for the Bears. In his junior season, he made even more of an impression as a top four rusher in the state, ending the year with 2,485 all-purpose yards, 39 total touchdowns.

Henderson also put up 100 yard rushing performances in 12 of BHP’s 14 games in 2023.

The Clemson commit became BHP’s leading rusher in touchdowns with 37 last season. In his final year in a Bears uniform, he has a shot at becoming the program’s all-time leading rusher in yards.

Henderson said his goal this season is to reach the 3,000 yard mark and break the single game record for rushing yards.
