Fatal vehicle collision leaves one dead in Anderson Co.

ANDERSON COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) – The South Carolina Highway Patrol responded to a fatal vehicle collision that occurred on Mechanics Street, near Kirk Lane, on Sunday evening.

Two vehicles were involved, a 2016 Mercedes SUV that contained two victims, and a 2005 Ford Escape that contained only a driver.

According to the SCHP, the Mercedes was traveling west on South Mechanics Street and the Ford was traveling east on South Mechanics Street when the vehicles collided.

The driver and passenger of the Mercedes were taken to the hospital and the driver of the Ford died at the scene, according to the SCHP.

The victim was identified as 60-year-old Jeanna Kay Satterfield.
