ANDERSON, S.C (WSPA) – An Upstate nonprofit is asking for your help to be able to house the homeless.

The Lot Project is a nonprofit in downtown Anderson serving the homeless and low-income population.

They have four programs aiming to foster a community that provides access to basic needs, shelter and the love of Jesus Christ.

The four programs include Louie’s a basic needs ministry, the artisan gardens providing fruits and vegetables on the alphabet streets, West Market Makers, a makers space providing a platform for the community to express themselves through building, art and the community and lastly Village Homes the transitional housing program.

There is case management and support for those staying on-site. It’s a 6-12 month housing agreement. The nonprofit is also looking to raise awareness and funds to build another home to house the homeless in Anderson County.

The second transitional house will be located on-site at their main facility at 302 West Market Street.
