UPDATE: Anderson Co. coroners investigating infant death

ANDERSON COUNTY (WSPA) – The Anderson County Coroner’s Office are investigating the death of a newborn infant that happened at 5:00 a.m., Friday morning on Oak Drive in Belton.

Anderson County EMS, Medshore EMS, Anderson County Sheriff’s Office and the Office of the
Coroner responded to the scene for an infant that had suffered cardiac arrest. The infant was found inside the home and pronounced dead on the scene, according to coroners.

The initial examination suggested that the infant was discovered by parents, Friday morning. Coroners said that the initial investigation indicated that there are no signs of foul play.

The Anderson County Coroner’s Office has scheduled an autopsy for Monday to assist in the investigation, and said that more information will be released at a later time as it becomes available.
