LAURENS COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) – South Carolina Highway Patrol said that a driver of a Freightliner Tractor Trailer was involved in a fatal collision off I-26, Friday morning.

According to the S.C. Highway Patrol, the collision happened on I-26 East Bound, at mile marker 46, just 10 miles west of Clinton.

The driver was traveling east on I-26 and slowed to a stop, where they began backing up, S.C. Highway Patrol said. The driver then “jack-knifed” and struck the median barrier.

The investigation is ongoing, according to S.C. Highway Patrol.
