Henderson Co. departments team up for canine rescue

HENDERSON COUNTY, N.C. (WSPA) – The Fletcher Fire Department and the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office teamed up for a rescue mission to reunite a dog with it’s owner.

Deputies said they asked members with the Fletcher Fire Department for assistance, after a dog managed to trap itself in a culvert.

Rescuers dug with determination and skill until they discovered a metal grate that was blocking access to rescue the dog.

The grate was able to be removed and the pup was reunited with its owner, injury free and unharmed. The Henderson County Sheriff’s Department thanks the Fletcher Fire Department with their helpful assistance.
