    Police seek answers in 1978 stabbing at Upstate hotel

    GREENVILLE, S.C. (WSPA) – Officers with the Greenville Police Department are seeking information regarding an unsolved homicide in 1978.

    43-year-old Norma Lanyon Jackson was employed as a night clerk at the Cabana Inn on 407 North Main Street.

    On October 12, 1978, Jackson’s body was discovered in the hotel’s lobby by a colleague during the routine shift change.

    The investigation revealed that Ms. Jackson had suffered multiple stab wounds, which ultimately led to her death.

    Officers said a motive for Jackson’s death has yet to be determined.
