    Flooding shuts down roads in Hendersonville

    HENDERSONVILLE, N.C. (WSPA) – Several roads in Hendersonville are closed due to flooding Thursday afternoon.

    Heavy rains have caused flooding along Mud Creek. The creek is sitting at 18.07 feet, which is moderate flood stage, according to a National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration gauge.

    Here are the roads currently closed in Hendersonville:

    • Greenville Highway from Chadwick Avenue to South Main Street
    • Spartanburg Highway from Chadwick Avenue to South Main Street
    • Caswell Street between King Street and Grove Street
    • South Grove Street near Shady Drive
    • Asheville Highway at Clairmont Drive

    An emergency shelter has also been opened at the Henderson County Athletics and Activities Center at 708 South Grove Street in Hendersonville.

    Been thru a lot of weather here in this area. I’ve not seen this level of panic. Is the city going to be ok with a dusting of snow this winter?
