    Storm cancels, postpones high school football in Upstate, WNC

    SPARTANBURG, S.C. (WSPA) – All high school football games scheduled for Friday night have been postponed or canceled following Tropical Storm Helene.

    The storm knocked out power to much of the area and caused widespread damage which resulted in the cancelation and postponement of games.

    Here is the list of rescheduled and canceled games:

    • Gaffney vs. Spartanburg – POSTPONED
    • Union Co. vs. Clinton – CANCELED
    • Westside vs. Weddington (NC) – CANCELED
    • Greenwood Christian vs. West-Oak – CANCELED
    • Daniel vs. Seneca – POSTPONED
    • Wren vs. Woodruff – CANCELED
    • CCES vs. Hampton Co. – CANCELED
    • Dixie vs. Towns Co. (GA) – CANCELED
    • SCS vs. Andrews (NC) – CANCELED
    • Crescent vs. Liberty – TBD
    • Any game scheduled to be played in Greenville County or involving a Greenville County school remains postponed.
    • Other make-up games to be determined

    Four games were moved to Wednesday, including a staunch defensive effort by Byrnes against rival Dorman and big nights on the ground for running backs at BHP and Broome.
