    Upstate organizations to distribute food, water after Helene

    (WSPA) – Organizations and agencies have announced locations where food will be distributed in the Upstate after Tropical Storm Helene.

    Spartanburg County

    • Spartanburg School District Three will be serving free meals to the community Wednesday, October 2nd at the front of Broome High School at 381 Cherry Hill Road, Spartanburg from 11 a.m. – 1:30 pm.

    Greenville County

    • On Tuesday, bottled water and ready-to-eat meals are being distributed this week by Greenville County at 35 E. Antrim Drive at McAllister Square. The distribution site will be available from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
    • Harvest Hope stated that their Emergency Food Pantry at 2818 White Horse Road, Greenville is open and ready to assist families affected by the storm. Anyone with questions can call (864) 281-3995.
    • Harris Teeter announced that the store will be providing free bottled water and ice to residents in the Greenville Area beginning at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, October 1st. Community members will receive a 24-pack of bottled water and bags of ice (two-limit per household) at the following locations:
      • Lewis Plaza – 1720 Augusta St Greenville
      • Northpointe – 100 Wade Hampton Blvd Greenville
      • Hudson Corners – 2145 Old Spartanburg Rd Greer
    • A meal is to be provided on Wednesday, October 2nd, by Upstate Circle of Friends in Greenville County’s District 25 to district families struggling with the aftermath of the hurricane. This one-way drive-through pick-up line entrance begins at 29 Ridgeway Drive, Greenville, SC 29605, and will begin serving at Noon until supplies last on a first-come, first-served basis.

    Anderson County

    Pickens County

    • Tuesday, October 1, Clemson University said Littlejohn Coliseum will be opening again from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. to provide students and community members with free food, drinks, ice, showers and charging stations.

    Oconee County

    The Golden Corner Food Pantry will be providing food and water to the public at two locations in Oconee County. Items will be distributed beginning Tuesday, October 1st through Friday, October 4th at the following locations:

    • Mountain Rest Community Club
      • 120 Verner Mill Road, Mountain Rest, SC 29664
        Tuesday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
    • Salem Fire Department Parking Lot
      • 115 East Main Street, Salem, SC 29676
        Tuesday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
