SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) – If you’re looking for a way to help in the aftermath of the Helene, there are many opportunities.

Debris Tech, a company that provides disaster recovery, said they are looking to hire residents to help with Hurricane Helene cleanup.

The company said they are hosting a hiring event in Spartanburg County. The position offers training, pays weekly and allows the community to provide aid through clean-up.

The estimated pay is around $1,000 weekly, and those interested in applying will need to provide a driver’s license, insurance and must be able to drive. The job entails monitoring contractors and maintaining thorough records of their work.

Debris Tech said that the estimated time to cleanup debris in Spartanburg County is three to six months.

The next hiring event will take place on Friday, from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. at 366 N Church Street, in Spartanburg.

Katherine Roberts, a Spartanburg resident, said she has seen the destruction first-hand, and that the disaster has scared her.

“Even though us here in Spartanburg are going through a lot, we need to all understand that there are people 45 minutes up-the-road from us that are going through a lot more,” Roberts said.
