    Asheville Police seek suspect in stabbing incident

    ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WSPA) – Asheville police are searching for a man charged with stabbing two people Thursday morning, which left one man dead.

    According to officers, Asheville Police arrived at Short Michigan Avenue around 7:06 a.m. in response to reports of a stabbing. Officers found one man who had already died from his injuries and the other victim with knife wounds to the neck.

    The victim was taken to Mission Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

    The suspect, Raqwean Jarrel Savage, 27, has been charged with first degree murder and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, according to the Asheville Police Department.

    Officers said they are actively searching for Savage, who is believed to be in the West Asheville area near Kentucky Avenue and State Street. Officers said that Savage should be considered armed and extremely dangerous, and if seen to call 911 immediately.

    Savage is described as a black male, 5 feet 11 inches tall, and 200 pounds. He has a tattoo on his upper right arm saying “EST 1997” and a tattoo on his upper left arm of praying hands.
