    Vehicle collision leaves one dead in Anderson County

    ANDERSON COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) – One person has died after a vehicle collision on Highway 24, near Wham Road, Saturday afternoon.

    According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the collision took place at noon when a 2010 Volvo SUV collided with a 2005 Toyota. The Toyota was traveling east while the Volvo was traveling west.

    The Anderson County Coroner’s Office said the Toyota appeared to have crossed the center line and struck the Volvo in a head-on collision. The driver of the Toyota was pronounced dead at the scene.

    No injuries were reported by the occupants of the other vehicle.

    The victim has been identified as 67-year-old Sandra B. Yates, from Townville.
