SLED investigates officer-involved shooting in Laurens Co.

LAURENS COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) – The South Carolina Law Enforcement Department said the agency was requested to investigate an officer-involved shooting in Laurens County.

The Laurens County Sheriff’s Office confirmed with 7NEWS that an investigation was initiated Thursday morning in Gray Court.

It has not been confirmed if any law enforcement officials were injured at this time.

A heavy law enforcement presence is in the area of Lakeview Drive and Highway 101 as agencies investigate the scene.

Details of what may have led to the shooting are limited as of now but officials said there is no threat to the public.

This is the second reported officer-involved shooting in Laurens County in October. The first incident was also reported in Gray Court on Oct. 2.
