Officer-involved shooting reported in Waynesville

WAYNESVILLE, S.C. (WSPA) – A man is in the hospital after an officer-involved shooting in North Carolina.

Waynesville Police Department said on Monday that Timothy Wayne Sellers, 56, was taken to Mission Hospital to be treated for gunshot wounds.

The police department said Sellers was injured in an officer-involved shooting in the area of 486 East Marshall Street on Monday morning. Details of the shooting have not been released.

There remains a “heavy” law enforcement presence in the area, and the NC SBI is assisting with the investigation into the shooting.
