SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) – Three men were arrested Tuesday afternoon following a high-speed chase in Spartanburg County.

The Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office received a tip about a vehicle involved in a collision, which was suspected to have been involved in a drive-by shooting.

Deputies responded around 4:40 p.m. in regard to a white Chevrolet Camaro involved in a collision near East Main Street and Berry Shoals Road in Duncan.

Three male passengers were seen fleeing the vehicle.

According to deputies, the Gang Unit identified the vehicle involved in recent drive-by shootings. Uniform Patrol, K-9 and Aviation began searching the area for the three people who fled from the vehicle.

A deputy witnessed the suspects get into a black Kia SUV and other deputies attempted to stop the vehicle as people in the back seat continued to “pop their heads up,” while looking at the deputies through the back window.

The vehicle stopped at the entrance of River Falls subdivision and two suspects fled on foot, according to deputies. The third suspect was taken into custody.

The two suspects were chased by deputies, and one was caught behind First Piedmont Bank on E Main Street. Deputies discovered a handgun on his person.

The last suspect jumped a fence into the Palisades Apartment complex. Deputies said a K9 was used to track the suspect, leading to the person’s arrest.

The suspects’ identities have not been released at this time.

The Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office said more information will be released once the investigation has been completed.
