SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) – A lane shift is planned for an exit along Interstate 85 in Spartanburg County.

The South Carolina Department of Transportation said a temporary traffic shift will be put in plate on Interstate 85 northbound at exit 57.

Traffic will be shifted to accommodate work on the Exit 57 ramp due to damage from Hurricane Helene.

The traffic shift will begin October 17 and is anticipated to last until November 8.

The DOT said traffic will still have access to Exit 57 from I-85 but it will be shifted away from the work zone.

Access to the airport from Highway 14 will be detoured to the next exit then rerouted back to I-85 southbound. Detour signs will be placed along the route.

SCDOT said drivers in the area should slow down and pay attention to signs when driving through the work zone.
