    Man dies from injuries while clearing storm debris in Greenville

    GREENVILLE COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) – A man has died from injuries he sustained while attempting to clean up debris from Hurricane Helene in Greenville, according to officials.

    The Greenville County Coroner’s Office said on Sunday, emergency medical services were called to Weldon Street in Greenville after Michael Lynn Hamby, 56, of Greenville, fell from an unknown height through a roof.

    According to the coroner’s office, Hamby was cutting trees and cleaning debris due to Hurricane Helene. He was taken to Prisma Greenville Memorial Hospital to be treated. He succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday.

    His death has been ruled an accident due to blunt force trauma to the head.

    I've been doing the same, every since the hurricane left. Even though you proceed cautiously thinking ahead of what may happen, accidents can still happen. My Condolences to the family.
