    Man arrested for firing gun inside Asheville restaurant

    ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WSPA) – A man was arrested Thursday night for reportedly discharging a firearm in a restaurant in south Asheville.

    The Asheville Police Department responded to a restaurant in the 1900 block of Hendersonville Road after 8 p.m. to investigate reports of a man shooting a gun inside the business.

    Upon arrival, officers located 35-year-old Danny Ochoa hiding in a nearby underground culvert.

    Ochoa matched the given description of the suspect according to police.

    Officers were also able to locate the discarded firearm used in the shooting.

    Ochoa was charged with the following:

    • Discharge firearm inside an enclosure
    • Discharge firearm in city limits
    • Resisting public officer
    • Injury to real property
    • Carrying concealed gun
    • Intoxicated and disruptive
    • Defrauding innkeeper

    He was booked into the Buncombe County Detention Facility under a $62,000 bond.

    What is it, just two restaurants in the 1900 block of Hendersonville Road. And one of them, Taco Bell, is closed. Nothing like almost telling us the story. .
