SPARTANBURG, S.C. (WSPA) – A Spartanburg industrial supply company gave away thousands of dollars worth of home construction materials on Saturday.

SteelCore Industrial and Welding Supply said more than $100,000 worth of supplies — from cases of water bottles to boxes of safety gloves and screws — were given away.

“Without our men and women of this community who work in manufacturing and construction companies, we wouldn’t have a business so being a supplier of building materials and supplies, we felt called to give back to our community,” said Brandon Coates, SteelCore Industrial and Welding Supplies CEO.

Rodney Agnew, a Spartanburg County resident, said he lost his wooden deck due to Helene.

“I heard about Steelcore giving out free supplies,” said Agnew. “I thought I’d come by, see if they have anything that could help rebuild my deck and save me a little bit of cost.”

Agnew estimated that it could cost about $9,000 to repair the deck.

James Davisis a teacher at Blacksburg High School in Cherokee County. He also made the trip to SteelCore for supplies to his wooden decks.

“We had a little storm damage from limbs falling on some things,” explained Davis. “Companies like this that’s taking care of their communities, is just fantastic.”

According to Coates said leftover supplies will be sent to North Carolina to help with relief efforts

Why do you assume he is giving just to white people? Why can’t someone do something nice without race being involved.
