    3 injured in shooting at Union Co. ball field

    UNION COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) – An investigation is underway after three people were injured in a shooting Sunday afternoon in Union County.

    The Union County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded to the Union Medical Center in reference to the shooting. Upon arrival, officials located one victim in the emergency room and were later notified about a second gunshot victim who had also arrived at the medical center.

    While interviewing both victims, it was reported that a third victim called 911 and was also taken to the hospital.

    It was discovered that the shooting occurred around 1:30 p.m. at the Buffalo ball field near Buffalo-West Springs Highway.

    All three victims were taken to Spartanburg Regional Medical Center for further treatment according to deputies.

    Law enforcement has not released any details about a potential suspect or the cause & motive of the shooting at this time. However, deputies stated that the incident appears to be isolated and there is no danger to the public.

    The shooting remains under investigation by the UCSO.
