SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) – Another gas station has reported locating credit card skimmers at its establishment in Spartanburg County.

On Thursday, the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office responded to Valero at 4195 South Pine Street. Upon arrival, the store manager reported to deputies that a technician had found two skimming devices while performing an upgrade.

The manager told authorities that the skimmer was plugged into the card reader and looked like a Bluetooth device.

According to deputies, the manager could not provide a possible time frame of when the skimmers were installed into the pumps. There was also no available footage of where the incident took place.

This is the second Valero location in Spartanburg County that has reported finding credit card skimmers at its pumps this week. On Tuesday, four skimmers were found at a gas station on Chesnee Highway in Cowpens.

Skimmers at both locations have been removed and placed into the custody of the sheriff’s office. No potential suspect(s) have been identified at this time.

The incidents remain under investigation by the SCSO.
