It's the second Amazon facility to open in Delta Township. Township Manager Brian Reed says it would bring an average tax revenue of $300,000 to the county.

"For all the other taxing jurisdictions, it's over $2.5 million," Reed said.

Amazon leaders say even if you're not working at the fulfillment center, neighbors will see many benefits.

“I’ve lived here for 46 years It’s really changed a lot in 46 years” Said Mary Clark, Delta Township Supervisor.

Many businesses are finding their way into Delta Township, such as the Ultium Battery Plant, Bass Pro Shops and the new Amazon facility.

“Just a good business climate, good location, but there were no tax incentives or anything,” Reed said

The story as to why they decided to come seems to come down to location. Located on west mount hope highway gives Amazon easy access onto I-496.

“I think the location in the greater Lansing regional area is ideal for them so I think that's what really drew them here” Said Reed.

And the benefits go beyond just economics.

“Will this mean faster shipping for people in Mid-Michigan?”

“Correct, when I said not only for the small sellers It’s also for our customers” Said Paola Lopez, the center's general manager..

Company officials say the new regional facility expands the reach of products.

“So rather than the product being stored on one main location this type of building allows it to get to different buildings so it gets to the customer faster.” Said Lopez.

Delta Township continues to build itself up through these new developments, and in the process gains new neighbors.

“So excited to have a fulfillment center by amazon we get to not only show up as a great employer but a great neighbor” Said Ian Conyers, Head of community engagement.
