    Syracuse Police officer and K9 hit by a drunk driver

    SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — A Syracuse Police Officer was involved in a car crash at the corner of South Clinton Street and West Washington Street while responding to a burglary in progress call on Thursday, October 10.

    The crash happened around 11:47 p.m. when a driver drove in the wrong direction on South Clinton Street.

    The driver has been identified as 24-year-old Lauren Klee. Klee was charged with driving while intoxicated.

    The officer involved in the crash was taken to Upstate University Hospital to be treated for minor injuries. The officer also had a K9 partner in the car. The K9 does not appear to suffer any injuries.

    Klee declined medical attention.

    What is wrong with people stop driving impaired!!! Also stop driving so aggressively on the highway people go double the speed limit running red lights I can’t tell you how many times I almost have been hit at hit driving my work truck people people blatantly running red lights its scary driving on the roads people obviously don’t care about other’s safety
