    Syracuse Crunch win season-opener at Utica

    UTICA, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — The Syracuse Crunch won its season-opener in Utica on Friday night, Oct. 11, blanking the Comets, 5-0.

    Dyllan Gill led the Crunch with two goals. Dylan Duke, Niko Huuhtanen and Max Gorshev all tallied goals as well.

    Brandon Halverson fended off all 26 shots he faced in between the pipes for Syracuse.

    The Crunch will host the Belleville Senators for the team’s home opener in Syracuse on Saturday night, Oct. 12, at 7 p.m.
